Quizzes for children, teenagers and adults.

INTRODUCTION

Hello. In this blog entry, Alex and I are going to present different ways on how we can use videos, stories, and different internet sources. In this project, we have made used of a website to prepare quizzes, so the idea is to come up with different internet tools, so students can practice their understanding of English.

THE FIRST QUIZ

This first quiz is addresed to children. This reading is about a lady who swallowed many animals. She followed a chain in order to catch the first animal she swallowed.

https://voicethread.com/?#q.b2735446.i14434763 (IN THIS LINK, YOU WILL HAVE ACCESS TO THE READING, SO CLICK ON THE LINK, BUT IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS TO VIEW THE READING YOU CAN TYPE THIS USER alexjandro26@hotmail.com AND PASSWORD: alejandrito)

In this quiz, you will have 12 questions. Each of them have three options, so click on the one that best matches each request.

SECOND QUIZ

This second quiz is based on a musical video in which teenager students are going to put into practice their visual and memory skills since they need to be pretty good observers to answer correctly all quiz´s questions.

The video is about a guy who is in love with a girl that he hasn´t met yet.
This is the musical video´s link, We hope you enjoy it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KYEev_3L6k&feature=related

Right after watching the video three times, go to the quiz´s link in which you are going to find a multiple option quiz that only has 12 questions and 3 options. Please click on the best option for each statement.

THE LAST QUIZ

It´s for adults. They have to see a video from youtube. The video is about global warning and some other aspects related to it, so after watching the video (link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJAbATJCugs), you have to go this link
and take the quiz which has 12 questions with three options each; be sure to click on the one that best matches each request.

CONCLUSION:

We think that as society is changing day by day, and the use of technology is becoming a need for teachers and for students as well, these tools we have used to prepare our quizzes are very nice because students are in touch with different internet tools that some of them might be familiar with, so that it will be even easier for them to use.

At the very beginning, we felt kind of weird because we are not accustomed to use these tools, but since we got involveld with them, they were easy to use.
Something that might be considered as a disadvantage is that when we are not accustomed to use these tools, they seem to be time-consuming.

      My Computer and
                    Internet Skills

Nowadays, the correct use of the computer is necessary in any professional area since they have been implemented due to their many benefits including simplify the work and save time. In most companies employees must be able to use basic application programs such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Photoshop and Paint in order to develop their work correctly; in addition, they have to manage these programs quickly and accurately to deliver their work on time. In my experience, the computer has become a basic tool to develop effectively my work and studies because it has helped me to get quick information whenever I need it and it has helped me to develop or improve different skills.

First, it has helped me to get pretty good information about anything that I’ve needed to know. For example, when teachers have assigned me homework in which it is necessary research about a certain topic, I have googled and gotten the information I need faster and easier than with a book. Despite not all information found on Internet is useful, I have found pretty good ones on reliable links such as Wikipedia, or the ones suggested by teachers. Moreover, I have searched for new speaking, listening, reading and writing activities to help myself improve these skills, to help my students learn English easily, quickly and pleasantly, and also to be an updated teacher.

Second, it has helped me to develop or to improve many different skills such as origami, dancing, cooking, perception, memory, logical thinking, socialize and the four macro skills in English language through videos, video games, windows live messenger and web pages. Last year, when I had free time, I used to watch videos to learn how to make animals with paper and give them to my younger students as a reward; these not only helped me to motivate my students, but also helped me to improve my fine motor skills and patience. I also used to enjoy watching videos and dancing along the video´s music, or recording myself singing, which helped me a lot to improve pronunciation, fluency and perkiness in tongue to speak English.

All in all, the computer has not only become a basic tool which help us to work better and faster, but it has become a very useful tool which can help us to learn, understand, explore and develop our own skills and intelligences. It is important to cite that almost all great benehfits that I have experienced would not have been possible without Internet. The computer is very helpful for me and many other people, but it is even more when we have access to Internet since we can get the lasted information from any developed nation, or interact with people who can help you get what you need. Thus, the computer and Internet are like rice and beans together because when they are joined, they become a very good meal to feed your body, or your knowledge in this case.

never stop learning

Since we were borned we started learning, we learned to talk, to walk, to eat, etc.
In my opinion, learning is one of God's purpose for life. Even elderly live in a "learning process" till they die. Whenever you confront something you can't do, get excited because you are going to learn how to do it!!!!
